In a heartbreaking incident, gunmen suspected to be hired assassins brutally murdered a mother of five, Mrs. Rose Eneojoh, in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State. The tragic event occurred on the night of Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Etikpolo Anyigba.
A family member, Charles Umoru, confirmed the gruesome murder in a Facebook post on Wednesday, revealing that the assassins admitted they had been paid ₦200,000 to carry out the killing. Despite Mrs. Eneojoh’s desperate plea for her life, offering the killers the same amount to spare her, they coldly accepted the money and still shot her dead.
“This innocent woman, Mrs. Rose Eneojoh, wife to my brother-in-law, was gruesomely murdered last night at Etikpolo Anyigba. The killers told her and her husband that they were paid ₦200,000 to assassinate her. She offered them more money in exchange for her life, they took the money from them and still went ahead to shoot her, leaving the husband and five young children in misery. How long should this continue in Igala land?” Umoru wrote in anguish.
The tragic event has left the community in shock, with calls for justice and an end to the violence plaguing the region.
