Festac Town, once a thriving community, has become a shadow of its former self. The streets are littered with trash, buildings are crumbling, and the sense of community is all but gone. Hon. Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye, who grew up in Festac, is leading the charge to save the town.
The town’s decline is a result of years of neglect by the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) and the Lagos State Government. Poor infrastructure, inadequate waste management, and lack of community facilities have taken a devastating toll.
A Call to Action
Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye is urging the Lagos State Government and the Federal Ministry of Housing & Urban Development to take immediate action. The town needs a comprehensive plan to address its infrastructure, waste management, and community facilities. The community must be engaged in the planning process, and those responsible for the town’s neglect must be held accountable.
A Deadline for Change
A deadline of June 2025 has been set for meaningful action. If significant improvements are not seen by then, Festac Town may be lost forever. But with the right intervention, the town can be restored to its former glory.
Join the Call to Action
Everyone who cares about Festac Town is urged to join this call to action. Together, we can make a difference and save this community.
