In a bold step toward enhancing gender-focused development, the Amina Agbo Foundation (TAAF), led by its Founder and Regional Coordinator, Dr. Sarah Ogah-Aduwari mni, has sought the partnership of two major national bodies: the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) and the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS). The visits, held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Abuja, were part of the Foundation’s strategic engagements ahead of its flagship EHI Project, a major women empowerment conference scheduled for November 2025.
The EHI Project—short for Empower, Heal, Inspire—is a three-day residential conference targeted at over 100 indigent women across the Federal Capital Territory. The program will provide comprehensive skill-building workshops, entrepreneurship training, mentorship, financial literacy sessions, and access to health care. Upon completion, beneficiaries will receive cash grants and business support kits to initiate or scale small businesses.
Speaking at the AANI Secretariat, Dr. Ogah-Aduwari mni emphasized the need for collaboration to ensure sustainable impact.
“Women are the backbone of every thriving society. When you empower one woman, you uplift an entire family. We are here to invite AANI to be part of this transformative journey—to mentor, support, and walk with these women toward self-reliance,” she said.
The Foundation’s appeal was warmly received by AANI leadership, who acknowledged the alignment between the project’s objectives and AANI’s longstanding commitment to national development and capacity building.
Similarly, during a courtesy visit to the NCWS national secretariat, Dr. Ogah-Aduwari mni outlined TAAF’s past and upcoming initiatives, highlighting the Foundation’s grassroots programs in Rivers, Bayelsa, Benue, and Abuja. She expressed confidence that NCWS’s national platform and extensive network could enhance the scale and sustainability of TAAF’s interventions.
NCWS President, Princess Edna DD Azura, commended the Foundation’s efforts and pledged the Council’s support.
“This is the kind of partnership we welcome—one that aligns with our vision to empower women and reduce poverty. NCWS is committed to working with TAAF to actualize this project and others like it,” she stated.
The EHI Project contributes directly to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). With support from AANI and NCWS, TAAF is poised to scale its grassroots impact and foster inclusive growth in underserved communities.
