recently saw a list of the 15 most indebted countries to the IMF.
When you read the comments, all the Nigerians are shocked Nigeria is not on the list. I makes me remember that no matter what is happening in Nigeria, Nigerians will always believe Nigeria is at the bottom of all nations. So when they don’t see Nigeria listed among failure, they become surprised.
But if you leave Nigeria and ask people about NIgeria, they talk about Nigeria the way Nigerians talk about China. Of course, Chinas is miles ahead, but I think one of the major issues we have in this country is our complete inability to see what we have. We speak about Nigeria from emotion rather than fact. And it has bad end results
Aimless Migrants: Nigerians japa aimlessly. Go to any country with more war, unemployment, poverty and crime than Nigeria and you will see Nigerians trying to come into that country by the thousands.
Needless Desperation: Nigerians, because of their low emotional opinion of Nigeria, tend to operate with needless desperation. Everyone believes everyone else is trying to get them at all times and this makes doing anything impossible
Repelling investment: When I say investment, I don’t even mean foreigners. Nigerians will tell Nigerians not to invest in NIgeria, not to invest in their home towns, not to contribute to development because of their unreasonably extreme mentality. I am in the process of building a school in my hometown. For every 1 person encouraging, 3 are telling me I will be scammed, or disappointed.
Nigerians have the mentality that all of the struggles and troubles of human life only exist in Nigeria, and it an emotionally illiterate mentality
